DFW Play Youth Theater is created with the vision to expand hearts and minds on stage and off. Here the emerging young talents gain confidence through dynamic theater education, learn real life responsibility, commitment and teamwork skills that are critical to their success in school and in life. We provide a unique opportunity to hone those skills while creating outstanding theatrical performances and contributing positively towards the larger community.
DFW Play has a history of being engaged deeply with subjects that young people find most relevant. We encourage the youth to bring up topics that matter, research & gather relevant materials, use findings appropriately within artistic boundaries and produce indigenous dramatic work to present to public. While it takes courage and commitment from both the youth and their parents for such type of original works, we are deeply touched by the love, support and encouragement from our audience.
We are a nonprofit and open to youth from 8 to 20 years old. Most youth members come from Dallas, Denton, Collin and Tarrant counties.
